A man trafficked to Malaysia with the false promise of giving job at a restaurant in Malaysia has been sent back by the Indian Embassy there.
Presenting the duped job-seeker and two accused involved in luring the man with job before media persons at its office today, AMADA vice-president L Krishnamohon conveyed that Ksh Momo of Khurai Thangjam Leikai and Sapam Nabakishore of Lakhipur, Assam but staying at ISKCON as a Bhakta sent one Thoudam Surchand of Toubul to Malaysia on February 28 this year with the promise of providing job at CH CoCare House Factory there.
But the documents of job recruitment being forged, Surchand could not locate the company in Malaysia.
But the accomplices of the human traffickers sold him to NMR restaurant where he was forced to work for more than 19 hours a day.
Following a complaint made to Indian Embassy, Surchand could contact with family.
Finally he managed to free himself and arrived at Imphal on March 31.Surchand spent Rs 75,000 in travelling to Malaysia, the anti-drug/alcohol campaigner maintained.
The amount incurred by Surchand should be reimbursed by Momo by July 15 but Nabakishore would be handed over to family after reprimanding him in accordance to tradition followed in Assam.
Surchand disclosed that Momo and Nabakishore sent him to Malaysia after making contacts with one ISKCON Bhakta, Daya Chandra Das who was said to be director of BTK company allegedly based at Kolkata.
