Imphal, January 14 2010:
Flatly rejecting the claim that Thamongjam Samson (40) s/o Jugindro of Mayang Langjing Tamang and Huidrom Bhogen alias Chingkhei (28) s/o Ibo of Mana Ingkhol Mamang Leikai were its cadres, the proscribed RPF/PLA has exhorted the State authority to investigate from where the weapons displayed yesterday were brought.
A press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief GM Changjou alleged that the activities of security forces, only aimed at earning good service record and winning blessings of their 'masters,' have crossed the tolerance limit of the people.
In case such excesses are not checked, lives of many youngsters would be in great peril, it cautioned.
Reminding that the PLA's 252 mobile battalion have already recovered its weapons, the outfit clarified that army numbers allotted to Samson and Bhogen alias Chingkhei by police were unauthentic.
There is no record of the duo in the PLA's war office.
It alleged that the duo are being kept as prisoners of war by security forces.
As regards Khuraijam Basanta s/o late Shamungou of Mayang Langjing Mamang Leikai, the outfit has already set the record straight.
The outfit has learnt that the two deserters are now in the custody of Assam Rifles, it asserted.
