Imphal, October 13 2010:
The proscribed KCP (MC) has announced that it would not have anything to do with the Merger Agreement of Manipur with India, inked on October 15, 1949 .
Announcing this in a statement, secretary, military affairs of the outfit, Lanheiba Meitei said KCP (MC) can never accept the annexation of Manipur by India and the Merger Agreement is nothing but a pack of lies.
Urging the people of Manipur to understand the significance of the day, the outfit appealed to the people to discuss the matter how Manipur lost her sovereignty, the outfit said that after existing as an independent kingdom for more than 2000 years, it came under the British for 56 years.
After the British left, the people of Manipur once again breathed the air of freedom and sovereignty but just two years later, India, forcibly annexed Manipur using all their guiles and wiles, said KCP (MC).
It is now 61 years since Manipur was annexed by India and in this period, Manipur has been seen as only a place of strategic importance, to ensure its safety from foreign incursion.
The outfit also appealed to all the people to extend their co-operation to the Black Day observation on October 15 .
