Gehlot will be accompanied by National general secretary (organisation) Sanjay Joshi.
At present, the BJP coordinator of Nagaland and Manipur, Avinash Kohli has been staying at Imphal and directly monitoring the organisational affairs of the BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Moreover, zonal organising secretary in charge of North East Border Area V Satish will be arriving at Imphal tomorrow.
After the arrival of BJP national leaders, a political conference of the State BJP executives, presidents of Morchas, chairmen of different cells and MLAs will be held at the BJP State unit office at Nityapat Chuthek on October 7. The conference will focus primarily on the forthcoming Assembly elections and re-organisation of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
During the conference which is presumed to be of great significance to the BJP State unit, Thawarchand Gehlot may disclose the stand of the BJP high command concerning the existing position of the State unit.
It is reported that the conference would seriously study the possible ways to strengthen the party which has been unable to establish itself as a formidable political party in the State even though BJP is a strong challenger to the Congress party at the National level.
On the other hand, some prospective BJP candidates for the forthcoming elections noted that reluctance of candidates to contest the elections under BJP tickets because of the prevailing condition and lack of consensus among party leaders have pushed the State unit into a deeper trouble.
In view of the proposed visits of the BJP central leaders, the organisational elections of the BJP unit scheduled for October 4 was put off.
The new date of the elections would be decided after a meeting between State returning officer M Bhorot and zonal organising secretary V Satish tomorrow.
