Toppers of the class XII exam conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) have been feted along with highest mark scorers in different subjects with various prizes and awards instituted by private individuals.
The felicitation function held at Kangla Hall was attended by Education Minister L Jayantakumar as chief guest, COHSEM ex-Chairman Dr S Chaoba as president and COHSEM secretary H Nabachandra as guest of honour.

Toppers in Science, Arts and Commerce streams of the Class XII exams were honoured with citation, books and cash prizes.
Fourth to tenth position holders in all the three streams were felicitated with citation and books.
Nongthombam Gunibani of Enlightened Knowledge Hr Sec School Sangakpham, Khundrakpam Nilita of TG Hr Sec School and Dipali Chanu of TG Hr Sec School secured the first three positions in Arts stream.
In Science stream, Satyam Takhellambam of HRD Academy Ghari won the 1st position.
Sanasam Kishan of Somorendrasana Royal Hr Sec School Thoubal and Pukhrambam Suraj of Herberth School Changangei shared 2nd position as Ch Smilie and Sidharth Khuraijam of HRD Academy and Konthoujam Priyananda of Standard Roberth Hr Sec School, Canchipur won third position jointly.
The first three position holders in Commerce stream were Maisnam Shinapal of Sree Digambar Jain Hr Sec School, Babli Sharma of Rayburn College CCpur and Paojahao Haokip of Don Bosco Hr Sec School Maram (joint second) and Megha Jain of Digambar Jain Hr Sec School.
Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister L Jayantakumar hailed the outstanding students.
He exhorted the students to work harder so that they can participate and win laurels in international level competitions.
He asserted that a good student should also embody a sense of social responsibility while also understanding social values.
Of the award instituted by private individuals, the K Manikchand Memorial Gold Medal was conferred to 1st position holder in Science Stream, Satyam Takhellambam.
The Jasobanta Taorem Memorial Cash Award carrying a citation, dictionaries and Rs 2000 in cash were distributed to 1st position winners of all the three streams.
Different other awards/prizes were also distributed to highest mark scorers in different subjects.
COHSEM declared that gold medals will be awarded to the first position winners in the three streams from next year onward.
