Imphal, October 03 2010:
Observing that it is not desirable for fraternal groups to indulge in mud-slinging against each other, the UCM has proposed that all the differences and ill-feelings be put aside by remembering the filial relationships.
However, the threat to abolish UCM from the soil of Kangleipak was very unfortunate.
Abolition of UCM would mean extinction of the Manipur society, said a press release issued by the civil organisation.
As regards the allegations levelled against UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar and external secretary L Nganbi Leima, their mistakes/faults could have been rectified, if a prior information was given to the party.
The allegation that UCM was a loudspeaker of a single revolutionary group appeared to be a ploy to put away UCM from its line of activities, added the UCM release.
