The Meetei Eyek Erol Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has today urged painting studios not to entertain work orders like printing backdrops/banners for public function without inscription of Meetei Mayek.
Speaking to media persons today, the finance secretary of MEELAL Thakaba said that those who go against the instruction will be dealt with severely.
Thakaba also said that the banner used in a function held today at GM Hall in connection with the launching of a business networking agency, BBS, without inscribing Meetei Mayek, was stripped off by MEELAL.
He said the function was attended by Minister L Jayentkumar in the morning session while the evening session of the programme was attended by MLA I Hemochandra.
The backdrop was removed before the beginning of the evening session.
Thakaba further said that the MEELAL central committee meeting held on May 15 had decided to ban the use of any backdrop/banner in public meeting without inscribing Meetei Mayek from May 18 .
He said that painting studios should not print backdrops/banner for public meetings without inscription of Meetei Mayek while adding that the decision was made known to the public earlier.
Thakaba also said that MEELAL has striped off the banner today during the BBS launching function for going against the decision of MEELAL.
He also appeals the people to use the Eyek script in vehicle number plates.
The business partner of BBS, Irom Satish has also apologised for not using Meetei Mayek in the backdrop.
The Nest Advertising agency employees have also assured not to print backdrops/banners without Meetei Mayek's inscription on it.
