Maintaining that undergraduate primary teachers and matriculate primary teachers cannot be regarded as the students of a same class, Undergraduate Teachers Association has objected clubbing of these teachers in the same grade and pay scale.
A press release issued by its Secretary S Ibemhal Devi said that direct undergraduate teachers and matriculate teachers have been clubbing together as primary teachers since 1999 .
It added that the matriculate teachers have been enjoying undergraduate pay scale but not undergraduate promotion.
The press release further said that teachers from matriculate post may enjoy double promotion whereas direct undergraduate teachers are yet to enjoy a single promotion in their service career.
It would be an illegal process if the undergraduate primary teachers and and matriculate primary teachers are mixed up in preparing seniority list, it added.
