Imphal, April 20 2013 :
A meeting of the State Cabinet today has deliberated on issue related to devolution of power to the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) in the hill and given its approval to the proposal for Separate Budget for Hills specially for Autonomous District Council (Demand no.51) in addition to the already existing Budget Head (Demand no.51) of Tribal Area Development Fund.
Accordingly, all the sanctioned funds for activities related to the ADCs have to be routed through the separate budget head.
Today's Cabinet meeting also recommended speedy computerization of all the land records of the four valley districts and Churachandpur so as to resolve any existing conflict on the land records.
Necessary instructions have also been given for completion of the task within three months.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has given its approval to appointment to the post of an Additional Director (Planning) in the Department of Education.
On the other hand, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) held today has decried the objection raised by Opposition parties against the proposal of privatizing health sector in the State under PPP model as 'immature' .
The meeting made it clear that it is just a proposal and nothing has been finalized as yet.
Thus, the Opposition parties are just making a hue and cry.
Even if privatization proposal works out, it would be done in the best interest of the people only in some areas on trial basis while the overall administration of the Government hospitals would remain under the control of the State Government.
