Police suspect a monetary demand on the contractor to be behind the kidnapping.
The rescued labourer was clueless about the reason behind his kidnapping.
He said three unidentified youths came to the labourers' camp where he along with six other labourers were staying and was getting ready for going for the day's work in the morning.
They forced him to leave with them on the pretext of having a talk.
They asked him to climb upto the hill in the village but he could not negotiate the steep slope.
While they were trying to him, police search party arrived there.
On seeing the police, they left him behind and escaped towards the hill, the 69-year old labourer said.
