Imphal, September 09 2012:
United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has termed the trial of NIA over its Chairman Sanayaima alias Meghen, Organisation Secretary M Nongyai alias Joy and other cadres, as a mock trial conducted to cover up the colonial rule of the India government over Manipur.
In a statement issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba, the proscribed outfit alleged that the nature of India government towards Manipur and its armed resistance groups is against international law and it is conducting only mock trial over the arrested cadres and leaders of UG groups just to put cover on its colonial rule.
UNLF is not waging war against India but they are just defending themselves against the cruelty of the colonial rule and trying to set Manipur free from its grip.
The real culprit is India government and not UNLF, it added.
UNLF further alleged that India government is using its security forces to oppress and torture innocent people along with imposition of draconian Acts like AFSPA.
Even though many countries have got their freedom from colonial rule under the decolonization process of United Nations, India is keeping Manipur under its colonial rule.
UNLF is not a terrorist organisation but a resistance group whose sole aim is to stand against the oppression of India government and free Manipur from its clutch.
The mock trial conducted by NIA was same like the trial of Yubaraj Koireng (Bir Tikendrajit), Thangal General and other freedom fighters of Manipur by Queen of Britain during their rule, the statement contended.
Today there are many literate persons in Manipur who can justify between right and wrong.
But the state still lack people who can stand against the atrocities of India government.
Once such persons come up and take the front seats in fighting against the colonial rule, India won't be able to stand against Manipur, UNLF added.
