Woman found murdered with throat slit

THE BODY of a young woman in her early 20s was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit at a spot along the road from Pallel to Aimol village today.
The spot where the body was found is locally known as Lai Lam Thokpham Ching of Sekmai Ningthou and Nongpok Ningthou.
It is believed that the victim may have been raped first before being killed by slitting her throat.
The body was come across by some children who went to the hillock in search of mushrooms in the afternoon today.
Alarmed by the children, the villagers gathered at the spot and later informed Pallel Police Station at around 1.35 pm.
Pallel Police rushed to the spot and conveyed the message to Tengnoupal Police since the area is under the jurisdiction of Tengnoupal Police and they searched the area for clues of the murder.
During the search, police found evidences of possible rape as grasses around the area ruffled up.
A hair clip was also found near the body.
Police also found a pair of slippers which looks like of a man and the knife used in slitting the throat of the victim.
Tengnoupal Police have picked up the body and deposited the same at the mortuary of JNIMS for post mortem and identification.
