15 AR provides medical aid to snake bite victims

Imphal, March 25 2011:
On March 24, three patients namely Hijai Pra, 14 yrs of Village Yairipok, PO & PS-Yairipok, Naochobi, 20 yrs of Thoubal and Ningtham, 60yrs of Thoubal were brought to the unit Hospital, 15 Assam Rifles in a semi-conscious condition.
Out of three, two were bitten by a poisonous snake while fishing in the pond while Ningthem was bitten while working in the paddy field.
Captain Mahipal Pabara, RMO,15 Assam Rifles immediately examined the conditions of the patients on their arrival and gave anti-venom vaccine.
The patients's condition had gone worse due to the effect of the venom in their tissues.
They were given IV drips and medicines and admitted in ward of the unit hospital.
The family members and relatives of the patients were thankful for the timely action taken by the medical staff of the unit in saving the life of these persons.
