Ahead of the two-day scheduled visit of Union Home Secretary GK Pillai to the State starting from February 26, a preparatory meeting was held today with Chief Secretary in the chair.
While the Union Home Secretary is at Imphal, a meeting of the Combined Head Officers would be convened to discuss outcome of his visit to Myanmar on February 18 where he met and discussed various issues including that of Manipur with his Myanmarese counterpart Brigadier General Phon Swe.
After his Yangon visit, the Union Home Secretary is set to arrive here on February 26 on a two-day visit to take up various issues with the State Government.
According to sources, consequent to the proposals put forward to the Centre by the State Government with regard to flushing out UGs operating from the soil of Myanmar and implementation of border fencing, the Union Home Secretary visited Myanmar to take up the issues with his Myanmarese counterpart.
Following the visit, there have been many new developments, the source added, without elaborating on it.
While the Union Home Secretary is in Imphal, the Chief Minister would chair a meeting of the Combined Headquarters.
To be attended by top officials of Police, Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF and BSF, the meeting would discuss issues of law and order and the Yangon visit of the Secretary.
Ahead of the visit, the preparatory meeting held today and attended by Commissioner Home and other top police officials, discussed necessary measures to be taken up.
