Justice Agarwal extends date for submission of affidavits till October 8

Except from Imphal West District Magistrate, no other persons submitted affidavits to the One Man Inquiry Commission constituted to probe the Khwai-ramband market incident that claimed two persons' lives-a young pregnant housewife, Th Rabina and a former underground activist, Ch Sanjit, and injured at least five others.
The last date for submission of affidavit expired today.
Owing to the non-submission of affidavits from the victims and others, the commission has extended the date for submission of affidavits from the victims and interested persons till October 8, Justice (retired)Agarwal heading the One Man Inquiry Commission said today.
Justice PG Agarwal (retd) arrived in Imphal today for further proceeding in the commission of inquiry in the July 23 shooting incident at Khwairamband market in the heart of the state capital.
Talking to some reporters, he informed of the extension of the date for submission of affidavits.
He said, as per intimation to the state government authority to submit the affidavit on or before September 18.The Imphal west magistrate submitted its affidavit.
He did not disclosed the details of the affidavit but said that he will start examining the contents of the affidavits but no response comes up to the affidavits called from the victims, their families and other people concerns which commission asked to submit by September 21 (today).
Commission will served notice to the families of the death and injure victims of the incident to submit their statements with regard to the incident, he said, once again appealing to the people to extend cooperation with the Commission for a perfect inquiry into the incident.
State government constituted a one-man Commission of Inquiry presided over by a retired justice (of the Gauhati High Court), Justice PG Agarwal to inquire into the circumstances leading to the July 23 shooting incident on August 21 .
