At the backdrop of the prolonging protest against him, Manipur chief minister O.Ibobi Singh stated today that violence will bring nothing good for the society but terror.
He was speaking at the commemorating programme of the 92nd birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi christened as 'Quami Ekta Divas Week'.
Addressing the function, chief minister O.Ibobi Singh who presided as the chief guest of the function stated that killing and violence would give nothing to the society except terror.
He said that Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India had always strived for unity and integrity among the different religions and sections of of the country in order to make India a developed nation." Integrity and unity are the arms of any democratic country and as a tribute to the former Prime Minister on her birth anniversary we should promise for unity", asserted the chief minister.
Meanwhile, 'Quami Ekta Divas' was also observed at Iboyaima Suman Lila Sanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal organized by Manipur Pradesh Sarvdharm Quami Ekta Committee (MPSQEC) in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
While participating the function, Dipa Hazarika from North East Quami Ekta Samiti, Assam pointed out that late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sacrificed her life for the people of the country and did several works related to the welfare of the people of the country.
She also emphasized to bring peace and progress in the state by forcing the centre.
Pradip Goval, another observer from North East Quami Ekta Samiti, Assam, also participated the function.
Participating in the function, I.Hemochandra, member of legislative assembly who was presided as the chief guest of the function emphasized on the unity and integrity among the various communities of the state.
He further stated that the present chaos prevailing in the state is because of the disunity and disintegrity among the people of the state.
