Imphal, February 17 2011:
Before leaving for New Delhi for a meeting to fix state annual plan size for 2011012, Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh has said that there were no considerations for early holding election to the state Assembly against the schedule.
Actually the Assembly election is to be held in February 2012, it may be considered for holding earlier the actual schedule as it would collide with the HSLC and HSSL exams.
O Ibobi has left for New Delhi this evening to attend a meeting for fixing annual plan size 2011-12 for the state of Manipur with Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission scheduled on February 21 .
State government is for fixing the plan size at Rs 4,000 crore, the Chief Minister said before leaving Imphal by air this evening.
He has been going well ahead of the schedule meeting so that he could meet Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Central Congress leaders and convince them on the financial problems facing by the state and fix the plan size as proposed by the state.
Even though PCI turn down fixing at the proposed size, he expected at least at Rs 3,5000 crore, Chief Minister said citing that state has been proposing the amount considering the need for completion of various projects being taken up by the state.
If the Centre agreed to the proposed allocation, the state can at least recoup a deficit of Rs 700 crore which the state is facing, he added.
