Imphal, October 16 2010:
Health and Family Welfare minister, Ph Parijat today inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Kasom Khullen in Ukhrul district.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, the health minister said that appointment of a total of 402 doctors is being taken up to ensure extensive coverage of healthcare service to the far flung areas of the state.
Once the recruitment process is completed, they will be posted in the CHCs, PHCs and PHSCs where there were no medical officers to attend to patients.
All required infrastructures, manpower among others will be provided to the PHC inaugurated today, Parijat assured.
He also expressed regret over the delay in the inauguration of the healthcare centre even though construction had been completed a long time back.
Delivering his speech as president of the function, chairman of the Kasom Khullen Development Association, Jojo Robertson drew the attention of the government .
to the fact that Kasom Kullen is one of the most backward sub-division of the state.
Roads connecting the sub-division with other parts of the state are in a deplorable state.
Due to bad road communication, the PHC building of which construction was completed a long way back could not be opened for public utility, he lamented.
Director of health services, Dr Sh Surcchandra Sharma, SDO Kasom Khullen, Sharatchandra, CMO Ukhrul and Dr Premchand attended the function as guest of honour.
