BJP state unit president Haobam Borbabu led team have left for New Delhi today to join the party's Parliamentary team members who visited the state last month to assess the 23 July BT Road killing to apprise the situation to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on tomorrow.
Manipur BJP team including former Chief Minister W Nipamacha and National executive member M Bhorot would pressurise the Prime Minister and Home Minister for the ouster of Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi and the dismissal of his Secular Progressive Front ministry in the state.
"We would apprise Manipur's prevailing situation including lawlessness, fake encounters and large scale extortions by the miscreants", BJP's organising secretary for the northeast Chandrasekhar Rao told correspondent over phone.
BJP had been demanding imposition of President's Rule in Manipur in the wake of 23 July alleged 'fake encounter' that killed one young pregnant lady and a former militant which sparked widespread public protest.The protest still on even though state government announced a judicial probe into the incident saying there's no need for any inquiry as the Tehelka magazine reveals the facts in their photographs.
BJP's national spokesperson Prakash Javedkar led Parliamentary team will be meeting Union Home Minister on September 7 afternoon.Appointment with the Prime Minister is also likely to be granted soon,party sources added.
Vice-president Bijoya Chakraborty, BJP Assam State president R Deka,BJP North East in-charge Chandrasekhar Rao,BJP Manipur unit president H Borababu,former Manipur Chief Minister W Nipamacha and former MLA and National executive member Meinam Bhorot Singh will also accompanied the party's national spokesman.
BJP had opined that 23 July BT Road killing was a 'fake encounter' and they are demanding resignation of state CM dismissal of the ruling front.The leaders of opposition parties also demanded immediate resignation of the CM to have a free and fair probe.
