Decrying the brutal murder of a tribal girl on May 15 in New Delhi, over thousands including students and lay people took out a mass rally at Noney in Tamenglong district of Manipur.
Organised under the aegis of Tribal Organization, Student Unions and Naga civil societies, the rally demanded justice for the victim while condemning the brutal act.

The joint action committee (JAC) formed against the murder of Langailu Pamei and several other organizations participating in the rally demanded the arrest of the absconding culprits and also life imprisonment or hang till death according to the law.
The JAC further demanded to provide ex-gratia to the bereaved family.
The rally which began from the residence of the late Langailu Pamei was participated by about 5,000 rallyists including the school students and displayed placards that inscribed, "Condemn innocent killing", "Punish the culprits with life imprisonment or hang till death".
A meeting at the end of the rally condemned the murder and called on the state government and the concern to look into the matter and bring justice to the deceased.
The JAC and family members also revealed and lamented that they were yet to receive any response of the memorandum submitted to the government.
Addressing the public meeting, Miss Holy, spokesperson of the Naga Women Union asserted the culprits, Roshan and Gaijaomei should be arrested and sentence to life imprisonment.
The JAC also demanded the Manipur and Delhi police to hunt down the culprits who are absconding in the national capital and book them under law.
It may be recalled that the victim, Langailu Pamei, a nurse at Vinayak hospital in Delhi was brutally murdered reportedly by her boyfriend on refusal of marriage proposal and her body recovered from the ridge area of Rajpur Civil Lines on May 15.The body was later on disposed off by the Delhi Police on May 19 as an unclaimed body.
On further investigation, police had recovered the knife which was used at the time of murder from the drain.
