Bandh on Pallel-Moreh section of NH39 from today

The indefinite bandh on NH 39 from Pallel to Moreh will recommence from 6 am of Thursday, the Leibi Village Authority has announced in an open letter to the
Chief Minister.
Announcing the re-imposition of the bandh, the village authority, in the open letter, alleged that the government had failed to translate into work their demands which had been placed before it on two separate occasions.
The open letter also warned that any untoward and undesire incidents occurring during the bandh will be the sole responsibility of the the government, the Chief Minister, Chandel ADC chairman, Linkhosei and Chandel DC, H Deleep.
The authority had on May 13, suspended the indefinite bandh till May 25 after an agreement was reached with the Chandel ADC chairman regarding their demands.
They are demanding transfer of Chandel DC, H Deleep Singh, alleging him for "arbitrary demarcation" of the boundary between Leibi and Kwatha.
In a memorandum to the Chief Minister, they had termed Chandel DC Deleep as bestial.
The bandh is to be re-imposed sticking to their demands which include immediate transfer of the DC, initiation of action against the firing on innocent villagers, compensation to the 12 injured villagers as per Maring customary law and to demarcate the land as per state Darbar Court order dated 17-1-1924 .
