The second session of the seventh Manipur Legislative Assembly would begin from March 8 and continue for four days till March 11. This was decided during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held today with Speaker Dr Sapam Budhichandra in the chair.
The meeting held in the Speaker's office chamber was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Th Debendra, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ph Parijat, opposition leader Radhabinod Koijam, O Joy, V Hangkhalian, Md Hellauddin Khan and other officials.
Supplementary Demands for Grant 2010 would be tabled on the opening day of the session.
The Government would also seek approval of the Votes on Accounts for four months (April to July) after presenting provisional budget estimate for 2010-11 on the same day.
The provisional budget would be presented after some modifications to the budget estimate of the previous year.
Notably, this would be the first in the history of Manipur Legislative Assembly to present a provisional budget.
The State Government could not present budget estimate of 2010-11 as the Planning Commission is yet to finalise the State's plan size.
It is possible that the full budget may be presented in the next Assembly session likely to be held in June/July.
Report of the Assembly Select Committee on the Manipur Higher Secondary Education (Second Amendment) Bill 2009 would be tabled before the House on March 8. The Governor's address given in the previous January Assembly session would be discussed in the forthcoming session for two days.
The Government would be pushing to pass Appropriation Bill No I and Appropriation Bill No II as well as the Higher Secondary Education Bill on the last day.
There would be private resolutions too on the same day.
