Kohima, February 18 2009:
Acting on a tip off, personnel of Special Branch conducted raid at Nouton Bosti here and recovered four Chinese hand grenade with ammunition and arrested six persons, including four females Wednesday afternoon.
Police sources said the accused persons have been identified as Abdul Atif alias Sher Khan alias Robin, ss major of Manipur based underground PULF; James alias Thomabo Zeliang and his wife Silvia (30), Rebeeca Devi (24), Rosemary Diswang (29) and Shanti Chetri (55) .
Police seized four Chinese hand grenade, 32 live rounds of M20, one AK-47, memory card, bundles of entry pass form of 'GPRN Kilo Affairs', one camouflage long pant and note book containing taxation list with incriminating documents.
The police sources also revealed that on interrogation, Abdul Atif confessed that he had paid Rs 40,000 to James to procure the bomb but they were arrested by the police before the transaction took place while the explosives were seized from Rosemarys house from Power House area, Burma camp.
All the accused have been forwarded to police custody.
Mention may be here that the accused Atif had been arrested by Dimapur police under Arms Act in earlier occasion.
