Three BSF jawans including Dy Cmdt hurt in bomb attack

Imphal, October 09 2012:
At least three personnel of 155 BSF (Border Security Force) including a Deputy Commandant sustained injuries in a bomb attack carried out by armed cadres of proscribed PREPAK today near Essar oil pump located at Luwangsangbam Haotabi under Heingang Police station.
The proscribed PREPAK, in a press statement has claimed responsibility over the bomb attack.
The incident occurred at around 10:30 am today.
The bomb, which was planted along the road divider just opposite to Essar oil pump along NH-2, went off as soon as a Bolero jeep wherein the Deputy Commandant of 155 BSF was travelling reached the spot.
The bomb was believed to have been triggered through a
remote control device.
Among the injured personnel, the condition of Deputy Commandant was reported to be serious while the driver of the Bolero and other personnel seated in the rear suffered minor injuries.
The Commandant along with his personnel was coming from Imphal towards Koirengei when the bomb blast occurred.
The injured BSF personnel are presently being treated at the BSF camp in Koirengei.
A team of Imphal East District Police Commandos led by SP Angam Kamei Romanus and the OC of Heingang rushed to the spot soon after the news of the blast reached them and inspected the area.
Though the BSF have sent a written document to the Hiengang Police station mentioning of the injury of the three personnel including a Deputy Commandant, their particulars have not been mentioned.
However, according to information received by Hueiyen Lanpao, the injured BSF Deputy Commandant is said to be a native of Nagaland.
It may be mentioned that unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb at the Essar oil pump located at Luwangsangbam Haotabi under Heingang Police station yesterday at around 6:30 am.
The bomb failed to explode.
The bomb was later retrieved by bomb exerts of the Manipur Police.
