Volunteers of the AMSU and DESAM conducting joint checking to exam centres today has detected drunken teacher discharging duty as invigilator and students using unfair means in the ongoing HSLC exam at Saikul centre.
Briefing to the media persons today at AMSU head office at DM College campus after returning checking the centre, AMSU organization secretary W Janmenjoy and DESAM education secretary Arambam Thoithoi said that the volunteers of the two students body conducted the checking as a part of its campaign for bringing quality education in the state.
During the checking at the Model Higher Secondary School, the volunteers caught red-handed a student under roll no.12390 using unfair means in the exam.
During the course of checking it was also come to know that the note was prepared from outside the exam hall by some other who get the question paper.
They also come to know very clearly that the invigilator of the exam named Robin Prashad in the room encouraged the students in using unfair means.
Action should be taken up by the authorities, the students bodies demanded.
Apart from this, another teacher of the school named Ak Guneshwor hailing from Toubungkhok discharging duty in drunken state.
His act is amount to against the campaign to bring quality education.
So, he should not be allowed to discharge his duty as invigilator, they further demanded.
Thoithoi said that some teachers of the private centres are found encouraging the students with an intention to get pass more students of their respective schools.
In these schools, teachers of concern subjects are given duty on the day to help the students.
The students bodies also condemned the OC of the exam at Khangabok High School refusing to enter the volunteers who are there to check the exam with the permission of the Board of Secondary Education conducting the HSLC exam.
