Imphal police has registered a case on the missing of file of the Manipur Remote Sensing Application Centre in the custody of the then minister of science and technology, official source said Friday.
The FIR case was registered by the Imphal police station after a complain was lodged by the director of the Manipur Remote Sensing Application Centre N Shamu on Tuesday (February 24), the source said and police has started initiating the process, the source added.
In his complaint note, the director stated on 4th April, 2006, the PRO of the then cabinet minister, Science and Technology Department, Ngamthang Haokip, Peter Mate collected the file (under no.10/01/2005-MARSAC) from the Centre.
The then minister in question Ngamthang Haokip, mention may be made had lost election in the 2007 Assembly election.
The file has not returned to the office of the Manipur Remote Sensing Application Centre at New Secretariat till date.
The office had requested in written to the then minister Ngamthang Haokip with one copy each to the Peter Mate to return the file for three earlier, the complaint note added.
The case has been registered under FIR no.58(2) 2009 under section 408/120-B IPC of Imphal police station.
