Governor Dr SS Sidhu has inspected the progress of the developmental projects being taken up by various Self Help Groups (SHGs) with funding from International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) in Phaijang village of Senapati district today.
After inspecting the products of the SHGs like garments, vegetables and other food items as well as Vermi-compost units, Aloe Vera nursery units and Passion fruit farms, Dr Sidhu appreciated the achievements made by these SHGs.
Nonetheless, he appealed to the villagers to make use of the assistance being provided by IFAD, both financial and technical support with sincerity and contribute their mite in making the remote village selfreliant.
Dr Sidhu also emphasised on close co-ordination and support between the villagers and the IFAD officials in implementing the developmental projects.
Phaijang village is one of the project sites which IFAD has identified for extending its financial and technical support in taking up developmental projects in remote parts of Ukhrul and Senapati districts.
