One hunger striker at Kangpokpi has been hospitalized at CHC, Kangpokpi on 24 September at around 6:45pm.According to the Medical Officer at CHC, Kangpokpi, Kimjalhai Kipgen age 43 of Kangpokpi who had been on fast unto death stir from 16 August in demand of complete implementation of Manipur Hills (Areas) Act, 1971 suffered dizziness and acute gastritis due to prolonged fasting.
The MO further said that, the weight of Kimjalhai Kipgen reduced to 5 Kg while her pulse rate reduced from 74/min to 68/min.The MO wanted to refer her to Imphal as her health condition is deteriorating.
While speaking to the media person at CHC,kangpokpi, Kimjalhai Kipgen said that, my prayer is my strength.
I pray for my leaders for their success.
I also pray for the government to inaugurate Sadar Hills district as a full fledged district at an earliest possibility while I also pray for the citizen of Manipur to understand our hardships and rightful demand and support us to achieve our long cherished demand.
I hope my prayer will not be in vain.
God can only take the right decision.
So, I have faith in my prayer.
Our Almighty God will help us attain a full fledged district, she said.
She also told the media person that, though her health status is deteriorating, she will continue her strike until her demand is fulfill.
On the hand, while one truck carrying life saving drugs passing through NH-2 has been given a free passage by the SHDDC economic blockade supporter, the 43 AR detained the same truck for at least for 6 hours at their check post at kangpokpi stating that it is very risky for them since the counter economi blockade supporter at NH-37 set ablaze 3 life saving drugs trucks recently.
Talking to the media person the driver of the said truck said that, the economic blockade supporter at Kangpokpi give them a free passage stating that they never harassed trucks carrying medical related things till now, instead help them to reach their destination safe and sound but the AR personnel detained them at their check post near IT Road, Kangpokpi and told them to wait for their officer.
We were detained from 11 am and were allowed to go only after 5pm said the driver.
In connection with the incident, the Convenor of SHDDC Sub-Committee said that, though the counter economic blockade supporters at NH-37 set ablaze even a life saving drugs carrier, the SHDDC sponsor economic blockade supporter till today never harassed or disturbed those carrying life saving drugs on humanitarian ground, instead they cleared the line for them.
Today we even send one of our volunteer along with the trucks to help them reach their destination safe and sound, the AR personnel at their check post detained the truck while taking the mobile handset of our volunteer.
After negotiation with the womenfolk they handed over the mobile handset to the owner.
