Imphal, April 22 2011:
Congress rule has brought about the habit of searching easy income earning ways in the state, MPP vice president, L Jatra said today, speaking at the concluding function of a three-day discussion session on youths participation in politics organized by the MPP youth Front.
The former minister said that the habit of working hard to achieve certain goals has been lost among the youths of the state and instead they have given keen interest in earning money with unfair means.
Wrong policies of the government had brought about this and it is not a good sign for the society, he added.
He criticised the Congress led SPF government of not taking up policies and programme for the state to become a self sustainable state.
Instead of it, leaders in the government are remaining chalking out plans to avail funds for the projects which can earn a huge amount of money by taking contract works of the projects.
Not a single work for the welfare of the people had taken up during the last 10 years under the Congress led SPF government in the state.
The number of unemployed youths has been rose to over six lakhs.
Instead of taking up policies and programmes for generation of employment, SPF government was remained engaging in infrastructure development works, Jatra went on to allege.
On the frequent inspections at project sites by CM and ministers, Jatra alleged that they are not actually interested in inspecting the work progress but to see whether bills for the works can be withdrawn.
