Independence Day celebrated at Kangpokpi

Everyone on the campus of ADC Complex, Kangpokpi on August 15 morning was geared up and enthused for the momentous 68th India Independence Day celebration though the weather didn't seem to be favourable at all.
It was the apprehension of unpredictable weather that made the celebration seemed to be next to impossible but surprisingly by 8 am the guests, invitees, CSOs leaders, village chiefs, and students a part from the masses started pouring in for the grand occasion which marked the highest numbers of participants after many years of pitiable celebration of the occasion due to continuous boycott of it by various UGs before they came under SoO.
Amidst scanty shower of rain, personnel of Kangpokpi police, who were at their best, marched smartly past the podium led by Nehgoulen Kipgen, SI, 2nd OC of Kpi Police Station and saluted the Chief Guest of the occasion DK Thangboi, MCS, Addl DC Sadar Hills, who also empowered the power District Magistrate.
The Addl DC sets the mood by hoisting the tricolour national flag amidst cheered and applauded by the crowd accompanied by well sung of the national Anthem by student of JNV Kangpokpi, Senapati-II.
Addressing the gathering, Addl DC Sadar Hills said that Independence Day should not merely become a part of our holiday list before adding that there should be serious efforts in educating the future generations about the struggles which the freedom fighters underwent to give us the freedom that we enjoy today.
He continued that even while the nation celebrated its 68th Independence Day India stumble upon many challenges where corruption, communalism, atrocities, poverty and poor education are the prevalent challenges.
In his significant social messages the Addl DC, who is also the District Magistrate called for unity with a branded colour attitude detaching with communalism intent before affirming that he will initiate and work for corruption free administration in his capacity.
He also stated that when all Governments programs and schemes is implemented successfully there will be a day of prosperity in the country, nationally, state-widely and in district and block level as well as in village level.
Respect women and consider them as our own sister to avoid atrocities stressed the Addl DC while everyone who feels to be an Indian to do something good for the nation.
