Imphal, April 16 2011:
Two Myanmar nationals, apprehended by troops of 38 AR from an interior area of Churachandpur district bordering with Myanmar on April 11 last, were taken six days remand by the police after producing in a local court.
Police said that Kappu Chin (25) son of late Goukap and Lousuankhai @ Khaipi (17) son of late Vungdoulian, both from Munlai village of Myanmar's Kolpi district were apprehended by the troops of Assam Rifles who found them staying in Indian territory without valid documents at Diakhai village seven km south Thanlon police station of Churachandpur district.
They were apprehended on April 11 last and handed over to the police with Indian currency amounting to Rs 30,610 said to have been recovered from their possessions.
They were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Churachandpur and taken remand for six days custody, the source said.
