While condemning the incident of threatening media houses by some people of Thoubal Leishangthem and Thoudam, various organisations pledged support to the ongoing agitation spearheaded by Apunba Lup staged against the Khwairamband market incident of July 23 .
Flaying the threat, Women Welfare Association, Charangpat Mamang Leikai said that the ongoing stir against the State Government is being staged in the interest of the people of the State.
While decrying the incident of thronging at the offices of media houses, Kakching Meira Paibi Chaokhat Thourang Lup asked whether the people of Thoubal Leishangthem and Thoudam support the atrocities meted out by the State Government.
Wabagai Mayai Leikai Meira Paibi Chaokhat Thourang Lup termed the incident of threatening media organisations as the first instance in the history of Manipur.
The women body said that locals of Leishangthem and Thoudam could simply clarify by issuing a press release regarding the incident instead of threatening the media.
The organisation also asked whether the people of Leishangthem and Thoudam can survive isolated from the masses of Manipur.
Condemning the incident of making mayhem at the offices of media houses, Sapam Mamang Leikai Women's Development Association suggested the locals of Leishangthem and Thoudam to join the people's agitation as the general public is currently facing lots of hardships.
SLUCO, Canchipur also condemned the incident of threatening media houses.
The organisation also urged the State Government to release the arrested members of Apunba Lup.
The bodies in separate press releases pledged support to the ongoing agitation of the Apunba Lup.
