Manipur Tourism Department today invited Maj Gen DS Hooda, VSM GOC Red Shield Division as special guest to witness the Sagol Kangjei exhibition match at the Sangai Festival held at Mapal Kangjeibung here.
Conforming the bond of friendship with the people of Manipur, the 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) also organised various events in the Sangai Festival which is underway at Hapta Kangjeibung.
While 12 Maratha LI displayed traditional Malkham, the pole acrobatics of Maharashtra, the 15 Assam Rifles presented Khukri dance which reflects the sacrifices made by troops of Assam Rifles during the First World War.

Taking part in the festival, the 28 Assam Rifles also presented an exciting Bhangra performance, the folk dance of Punjab.
The crowd was enthralled by the display of different cultures of India during the day's event which was witnessed by CO 12 Maratha LI, Commandant 15 Assam Rifles and Commandant 28 AR along with troops and families of their respective batallions, said a release issued by Public Relations Officer, Hqs IGAR (S) .
