Students of Liangmai community have their day in Hotel Classic today in Imphal with resource persons of the programme harping on the issues confronting the community.
Liangmai students from both college and university levels participated in the "interaction programme" organised by the tribe's students' body, the Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR), Imphal unit.
Speaking on the occasion as a resource person, K.Daimai, Joint Director (Rtd), Tribal Research Institute (Govt of Manipur), highlighted the culture and origin of Liangmai community.
K.Daimai dwelt on the book written by him called "Chabang Khadi Talung Zai" which gives indept materials on Liangmai culture and its origin.
He specifically spoke at length about the Liangmai culture and its origin saying the younger generation ought to know about it.
K.Daimai also stressed the importance of the Liangmai culture.
Another resource person of the programme, Adibo Newmei, lecturer (Selection Grade) of Modern College, Imphal, cautions the gathering youths not to get swayed away by the city-leisures but to always keep in mind the hard-toiling parents back home in remote villages struggling to support their children's education.
Adibo Newmei also urged the participant students to come out of the cocoon and start taking parts in various activities outside the Liangmai community.
Dr Pouchunbou while encouraging the Liangmai youths opined that students can excel without depending much on their parents.
He said that youths in the West once crossed 18 years of age no longer depend on their parents for anything.
Dr Pouchunbou also shared his experiences as a college student.
Poudikhonbou Pamei, a member of Union of Evangelical Student of India (UESI) shared his feelings with the participants in the programme.
He termed today's occasion as a rare event which was a key initiative towards bringing the youths together in building a constructive society.
Poudikhonbou Pamei exhorted that frequent interaction programmes as of today's should be organised often.
He, however said that fearing God is the first step for everything.
Rev.Mathew Thiumai, Pastor of Liangmai Baptist Church, Imphal gave references to the Bible and spoke at length in the programme the importance of obeying God's words.

Majibuibou gave the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
Meanwhile, in the course of the programme, the participants freely posed questions to the resource persons of the programme pertaining to many issues so as to clear their doubts.
Today's programme at Hotel Classic was a healthy one with many participants elated and enlightened with the nature of the very programme and the unique ambience of the venue.
The organisers of today's programme said that more such events will be organised in the near future with Liangmai community elders.
