Imphal, April 28 2011:
At around 4.30 pm on April 25, troops of Assam Rifles patrolling near Skipe village along Indo-Myanmar border noticed a group of armed UG cadres and engaged them with firing, according to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The firing was brief and the terrorists fled across the border into Myanmar.
The villagers across the border have informed that the armed cadres belong to PLA and were searching for two of their cadres who had deserted their camp in Myanmar, the PRO said.
It has also been highlighted that all the terrorist groups have been facing severe problem due to large number of cadres deserting their camps in Myanmar and the UG groups are reportedly resorting to harsh measures to prevent their disillusioned cadres from deserting, the PRO added.
