Finally, as promised, and after crippling public life in the district for two consecutive days, 1760 quintals of BPL and APL rice has reached Churachandpur yesterday at around 6:30 pm.
With the arrival of the first shipment, Churachandpur District Students' Union has acknowledged the government gesture and extended its bandh suspension until Friday.
MLA nominees who lifted the PDS supply from Imphal claimed that all backlog quota of the district which is estimated at around 5599 quintals will arrive within two to three days.
The eleven truckload of rice that made its way to the district was escorted by a local police team from the Sangaiprou godown, while another team headed by SP/CCpur received them at Kangvai village.
