Imphal, March 24 2009:
Eager parents, relatives and friends flocking around the vicinity of the examination centres to help students appearing making headache to the examination conducting authorities has been a think of the pass for the examination centres for the Ukhrul.
Examination scenarios in Ukhrul District underwent a marked tranquility this year as the exams for the Standard X and class XII conducted by BSEM and COHSE were held without any interference from the outside the exam campus.
Thanks to the relative realization of the society that there is no short cut in the shaping of quality pillar of the nation.
Not many years ago, examination centres are the place where police and examination volunteers runaround chasing " sneaking relatives" of the students writing their examination inside the exam rooms, trying to pass on notes but now it has become a thing of past, at least in Ukhrul District.
The gradual change from the rowdy scene of yesteryears to the peaceful scene were prevailed due to the competitiveness in quality education among the different schools as well as in the prestige of being the most peaceful exam centres in fair conduct of exam among the exam centres.
More than 1850 students wrote in the theory papers of class X and class XII board examination concluded today at nine examination centres in the District.
Out of which more than 1680 students wrote their HSLC exam at four centres from more than 25 high schools under BSEM.
Eight ten students from 15 higher secondary schools and colleges appeared their HSSLC exam at 2 centres.
Under Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 171 students gave class X & Class XII All India Senior Secondary Examination at two centers this year.
Nineteen students from the District appeared the class X board examination under the Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE).
The 19 students are from Patkai Christian Academy (PCA) and wrote the exam at PCA private centre.
Tranquility and maintenance of exam ethics basically begin last year with the CBSE and ICSE exam centers maintaining marked fairness which consequent cent percent pass percentage.
Ultimately this became a role model for the exam centers under the two state education boards of BSEM & CHSEM to go for a congenial competition in maintaining examination ethics in and around the venue.
Interestingly, apart from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Lambui, CBSE & ICSE came lately in the District only in 2007.At the moment there are 4 CBSE schools in the District, namely JNV Lambui, Assam Rifles (AR) School, Somsai, Little Angel English School (LAES) and Kendriya Vidyalaya Ukhrul.
Among which JNV Lambui has reach hr.
sec level and LAES and AR School class X level.
Kendriya Vidyalaya which is only 3 years old at Ukhrul has only up to class V standard.
The role model LAES and PCA private independent center of CBSE & ICSE was earlier under BSEM till 2006.In the today concluded class X board exam 99 students from two CBSE schools appeared at LAES exam centre.
This year with peaceful exam scenario, policeman stationed at the exam centres are seemingly dreaming their own dream with nothing to do.
