Red Shield Division sponsored a seven-day adventure camp organized by MMTA from October 14 to 20 at Lamdan.
The camp was held with an aim to bring youth from different areas on a common platform to share and learn one another's culture and facets of ethnic composition and develop personality, leadership qualities, team spirit and camaraderie through adventure activities, said a press release issued by PRO PIB (DW).
It added that the camp offered the youth a chance to travel and see the scenic beauty of nature while understanding the biodiversity of the region.
The students were given first hand experience of artificial rock climbing on Baby face and Toshy rocks and a meeting with eminent rock climbers of Nepal was also arranged.
They also enjoyed obstacle course training and trekking to Leimaton Peak followed by swimming and boating in Loktak Lake.
They also visited Leimaram waterfall.
Firing practice was conducted by 4/8 Gorkha Rifles for students and staff of MMTA to give them first hand experience of firing infantry weapons.
As part of closing ceremony a vibrant cultural programme was organized where Brig NJ George, Commander of Loktak Brigade exhorted students to concentrate on studies and try to build good future for themselves while contributing to nation building.
A total of 138 students including 56 girls from Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Senapati, Imphal West and Imphal East District took part in the camp, added the press release.
