Lamka, February 19 2011:
Charting a record that her predecessors have never dare, the incumbent Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur for the last two days walked her way into inaccessible villages of Henglep where even the BDOs and VLWs have not dare to tread, to reach-out to them.
The long trek along the narrow-steep footpath was taken a day after the Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus' team rode on the back of Shaktiman to Henglep sub-divisional hqs.
She had all along the road inspected developmental schemes that have been sanctioned or routed through her office.
Though many of the works appeared to be taken up as late as the announcement of her visit, she insisted that it was this very impression that have influenced her to embark on the daunting task of visiting the interior sub-divisions.
As if her ride along the wretched and dusty road and the advice of her many acquaintances were not enough, she resolved to walk through the 56 kms footpath of the interiors.

Incidentally these footpaths are the lonely lifeline of the villagers.
Commencing it from Vongmol village, barely 5 kms from the sub-divisional hqs, the team trekked through two of the remotest villages before halting a night at Phuoipi.
It then concluded at L Khengjang village along the Leimatak rivulet near Loktak project.
