A public information campaign (IPC) would be launched in Manipur with the main objective of finding out whether the benefits of the various Central Government sponsored schemes/projects are getting by the targeted beneficiaries or not.
The campaign would also facilitate an interactive session between the people and the top officials concerned of the Departments which are implementing these schemes and projects.
Talking about the campaign to be launched by the Imphal office of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Government of India at the office of the PIB, Jail Road here today, Media and Communication Officer L Premlata said it is a part of the Nation-wide campaign to be launched under the instruction of Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
According to the Ministry instruction, the campaign would be launched specially in areas located far away from city areas.
So the first phase of the campaign would be held from September 26 to 30 at Malom Community Hall in Imphal West District.
The Centrally sponsored schemes/projects to be covered in the first phase include Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission, National Rural Health Mission, Sarva Shisksha Abhiyan, Mid-Day Meal Programme, Right to Information Act, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Integrated Child Development Services and Bharat Nirman package, she disclosed.
During the course of the campaign, top officials concerned of the Departments which are implementing these schemes would be explaining to the people about the schemes.
After that interested people would be given the opportunity of asking questions to the official to clear their doubts, if they have any.
To facilitate and encourage the people to raise question, stalls would also be set up where relevant documents of the schemes would be made available to the people, the Officer said, and appealed to all the people for active participation in the campaign.
