Imphal, November 11 2010:
After the birth of PREPAK, its first frontal organisation Seven Colours of Kangleipak (SCK) was established at the initiative of central committee member Ayekpam Suren alias Surenmacha Meitei on September 2 with Chongtham Bedabushan of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak as founder president and Yumnam Nodia of Uripok as founder general secretary.
After its member Akoijam Babu of Uripok first joined the PREPAK in June 1980, other members of the SCK joined the outfit one after another.
As most of the members of SCK had joined the PREPAK, the SCK ceased to exist by May, 1981 .
On the other hand, following resignation of Chairman Bonbihari, ex-RGM member Keisham Ibobi of Wabagai Kadajit became the second Chairman of the outfit in February 1978 .
But unfortunately, chairman Ibobi and organisation secretary RK Chitrasen were called out by some traitors from a meeting venue and shot them dead at Wangkhei Ayang Palli at around 9.50 pm of March 16, 1980 .
PREPAK has been observing this day as Anti Class Enemy Day, Aheiba Angom said.
On April 26, 1980, the then Seven Star (suicide squad), led by Imochouba alias Amitkumar ambushed a CRPF team at Langjing Bazar and succeeded in killing three CRPF personnel and snatched a 3.3 rifle.
Avenging the casualty, CRPF slew four people innocent people besides thrashing a large number of people blue and black.
Those slain by CRPF included pregnant Irom (O) Bino (30) w/o I Kameshwar of Patsoi, Naorem Indrajit (20) of Patsoi, Lourembam Angou (45) s/o L Tamphajao of Patsoi and Thokchom Leikham Singh (20) of Taobungkhok.
Soon after, the then propaganda committee distributed leaflets informing the public that PREPAK would observe this day as Black Day starting from the next year.
After the death of Chairman Ibobi, the post of Chairman was held by different leaders one after another.
Now the party is being led by Nongdrenkhomba in his capacity as vice-chairman.
Claiming that the outfit is is following the path laid down by late leaders towards re-securing the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak and establishment of an egalitarian society, free from exploitation and discrimination, the outfit appealed to all the people to offer lights to the martyrs in the night on November 12 .
