Taking serious note of the present situation of higher education in Manipur, Government College Part Time Lecturers' Association, Manipur has decried the discriminatory attitude of the Government and specially those officials working in the Higher Education Department toward the teaching community and specially the part time lecturers.
Difference in the pay structure among the part time lecturers is also another glaring example of the partisan attitude and policy of the Government, the Association general secretary Ch Shyamo said in a statement.
He lamented that part time lecturers who have carrying out major workload of higher education in Manipur for the last 10-16 years have been victimised by the Government citing RR which is subjected to change from time to time.
The Association has also appealed to all the social organisations and NGOs, student bodies and educational experts who are concerned about the quality education in Manipur to extend their co-operation in the cause of the part time lecturers.
