Opposition parties of the state have urged the BJP Parliamentary team to facilitate the conduct of Judicial Inquiry into all alleged fake encounters in the state since O Ibobi led SPF government come into being in 2002. The representatives of opposition parties have held an hour long meeting with the BJP Parliamentary Team Tuesday evening at Hotel Imphal.
The opposition representatives are also said to have handed a hand written representation to the BJP delegates.
President of MPP, Dr Nimaichand Luwang, who also took part in the meeting, said the representation urged the BJP Parliamentary Team to insist on to avail a judge to head the judicial inquiry on Khwairamband incident.
To insist the CBI to look into the case taken up by the police on the Khwairamband incident, to conduct judicial inquiry on all alleged fake encounters, and to pressurise for the dismissal of SPF government, were among others, incorporated in the memorandum.
Dr Nimaichand said the BJP Parliamentary team has been convinced that the Khwairamband incident was clearly a fake encounter incident.
The team members are also fully convinced that the bullet that killed Rabina was a rifle and Sanjit was shot at close range.
The MPP President also conveyed that the BJP Spokesperson, Prakash Javedekar was perturbed that fake encounter has been given high coverage in other states.
But in Manipur the death of two/three persons daily in alleged fake encounters is not focused as it deserves to be.
The BJP team has also assured to nationalise the issue of Manipur.
The opposition parties are also likely to call on the BJP National leaders in Delhi shortly.
Dr Nimaichand said the opposition representatives are likely to go to Delhi in the last week of August.
They may also organise a protest in Delhi.
The opposition members will also seek audience with the Prime Minister.
Prakash Javedkar has also told the opposition representatives that the BJP will mount pressure at the Centre for the dismissal of CM O Ibobi.
The meeting with the BJP Parliamentary team was attended by opposition parties' representatives � MPP president Dr Nimaichand Luwang, Dr L Chandramani, MPP secretary Kh Ibomcha, NCP President Radhabinod Koijam, NCP general secretary K Saratkumar, MLA Nandakishore, MLA Doukhomang Khongsai, CPI (M) secretary Sarat Salam, Secretariat member Ksh Shanta, MSCP member Devabrata and BJP Manipur Pradesh leaders.
