Contact Programme for Talented School Students organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) has kick started at the training hall of Art and Culture Department today.
The programme is being organised under the sponsorship of NCSTC, DST, Government of India.
Three students and one guide teacher each from 10 schools are taking part in the five-day programme.
Former VC of Manipur University, Dr IS Khaidem, Dean of College of Agriculture of Central Agriculture University, Prof N Iboton and HOD of Chemistry Department of MU, Dr Warjeet were the presidium members of the opening function.
Dr IS Khaidem while speaking in the function said that one has to work hard to be successful in the field of science as it is an analytical subject.
As science is required in every field, it is a very important subject, he added.
Dr Warjeet observed that as science contributes a lot in bringing development to every nation, brilliant students must be encouraged to opt science subjects.
The programme will continue till October 22 .
