In view of the various inconveniences being encountered by handloom and handicraft artisans of the State, the Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers' and Handicraft Artisans' Cooperative Society Limited has decided to donate an area of about 2 acres in size to set up an urban hut.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the ongoing 1st Apex Craft Bazar at Hapta Kangjeibung today, president of the Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers' and Handicraft Artisans' Cooperative Society Limited, M Satyabhama said that handloom and handicraft artisans of the State have been facing the basic problem of marketing their products in addition to various other inconveniences.
Announcing that the society has decided to donate around two acres of its land to set up an urban hut, Satyabhama appealed to the Government to develop an urban hut that can cater to the needs of artisans.
