In connection with the Ed-ul-Fiter festival, the armed outfit People's United Liberation Front (PULF) has extended financial assistance to the family members and widows of its slain officers and cadres.
The financial assistance were handed over during a simple function held at a place in Thoubal district today.
On the occasion, the message of the outfit's chairman Adam Lashkar was also read out.
In the message, Lashkar said extension of financial assistance to the family members of the slain officers and cadres towards helping them to participation the celebration of Ed-ul-Fiter started since last year after reorganisation of PULF on March 2007 and it is estimated there are around 100 such families.
Besides this, PULF would also extend every possible assistance to all those poor Muslim families in other parts of Manipur to ensure their participation in the celebration, Lashkar said, while appealing to all ethnic groups of people living in Manipur since time immemorial to take part in the celebration.
Warning that strong action would be taken up against indulging in gambling and roaming around in jeep/car by young boys and girls in the name of the celebrating the festival, Lashkar appealed to all the religious leaders, civil organisations and the public leaders to ensure nothing is done against the religious norms in the name of celebrating Ed-ul-Fiter.
