All Tribal Students� Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has stated that the proposed economic blockade which was to begin from February 16 has not yet been called off, but only postponed to give enough time to the Government to consider the charter of demands submitted already.
We might be compelled to launch the agitation any time from first week of March if the Government remains indifferent to these demands, ATSUM assistant general secretary Thomas Taishya said in a statement today.
The charter of demands of ATSUM relate to providing adequate infrastructures, teaching and non-teaching staff and full-fledged headmasters in all the Hill schools, sending back all the teachers utilised for implementation of SSA and settling of the imbroglio over KSO land in Imphal town.
