The 24th State level Science Exhibition for School Children, 2003-04 organized jointly by State Department of Education (S) and NCERT, New Delhi concluded at Johnstone Higher Secondary School today.
Exhibition held on the theme of 'Science and Technology in the changing world' has been going on since January 21, and based on their performance and model presentation 20 students have been selected for taking part in the Eastern India Science Fair to be held at Siliguri in West Bengal from February 4 to 7.Former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Dr IS Khaidem, Dean of School of Science, MU Prof C Amuba and Commissioner of Education P Bharat Singh attended the valedictory function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Besides distributed prizes and certificates to the participating students, Thiyam Priyadharshini Devi of Catholic School, Canchipur, who won second position at the National Level Science Seminar, was also felicitated on the occasion.
After assessing the models displayed and performances of the participating students by a five-member panel of judges, 20 students, including five for participation in the study circle have been selected for participating in the forthcoming Eastern India Science Fair.
The selected students are O Pradip Singh ofNambol Higher Secondary School, Bishnupur; S Usharani Devi JNV, Khumbong; A Ajit Meetei of Nambol Higher Secondary School, Bishnupur; L Manisory Devi of Diana English School, Porompat; Rebecca of Christina Model English Higher Secondary School, Tamenglong; L Johnson Singh of Sacred Heart School, Imphal, Nikhilesh Pandey of JNV, Khumbong; Meenaka Yengkhom of Martin Grammar School, Kakching; L Samola Devi of St Mary's High School, Churachandpur; Ngangbam Rajesh Singh of Catholic School, Chanchipur; Ng Kilabati Devi of St George High School, Porompat, I Lemina Devi of Little Flower School; RK Angamba Singh of St George High School, Imphal, Leiyachon Rungsung of Little Angels' English School, Ukhrul and Letkhotingthang of St Mary's High School, Churachandpur for participation in the Science Fair.
