Imphal, October 29 2010:
The proscribed RPF has negated the police claim that Lt Rupachandra was arrested from near Khuman Palli Telephone Exchange as reported in the media.
A press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief GM Changjou contended that Division-2 secretary Lt Rupachandra was pulled up from the house of Gopal Sharma of Kongpal Laishram Leikai at about 5 am of October 24 .
The commando team also seized one mini laptop computer and a mobile handset from Rupachandra, two mobile handsets belonging to Gopal and three mobile handsets and a computer laptop from a neighbouring house.
However, the police claim about arrest of Rupachandra from Khuman palli did not mention anything about the seized articles.
This was done deliberately to rob the seized articles, the outfit alleged.
It was nothing but daylight robbery.
The outfit clarified that none of the party cadres, not belonging to finance department are not related to financial matters.
Other than the laptop and mobile handset belonging to Rupachandra, all other articles taken away by commandos belonged to civilians, the outfit added.
