An import alert issued by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that Bournvita with (super chargers) malt-milk beverage dry powder mix with cocoa with code nos 9,14, 29 and 34 which are products of Cadbury India Ltd, Cadbury House, 19-Bhulabhi Desai-Road, Mumbai-400026 should be detain without physical examination of food products due to the presence of Melamine and/or Melamine Analogs.
According to a statement issued by Director of Health Services cum State Food (Health) Authority, Manipur Dr W Motilal, the other food products on whom the import alert with regard to presence of Melamine and/ or Melamine Analog has been issued by FDA include Cocoa (code no.34) of Qing Dao Jia Nacocoa Products Co.
Ltd, Jinagdhan Town, Laixi Qing Dao, Shandong, China-266071 .
For 'detention without physical examination of cocoa due to the presence of microbiological contamination', the import alert covered food products like desiccated coconut manufactured by Selecta Agro-industrial SA Callc 'S' Esquina 'G' Zona Industrial De Haina Box-20211, San Cristobal Dominican Republic, Dried coconut of Tropical Valley Food SA Route National Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Desiccated coconut of Kwok Fund Trading Co, Hong Kong; stredded coconut of Phu Thuan Company, Trang Long St, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Coconut milk products of GPO Box-754, 1005 Western Centre, 4050 Vocox Road, Hong Kong; JoNa's International Philippines 17 Clemente Street and Champ Group Enterprise Co Ltd, 766/48-53, Soi Pradu, Yanawa, Thailand.
The import alerts have also been issued on detention without physical examination due to presence of Salmonella in food products like Mutta Masala of Nazareth Foods Pvt Ltd, No.85 Vanagaram Road, Chennai-600095; Mole Vede of Herdez AS De CV, Planta Lwis Potosi, Maxico and Chocolate covered Marshmallow of Mazapan De La Rosa, SA De CV, according to the statement.
